Motorcyclist killed in wreck on Hwy. 14 in Millbrook now identified | News
MILLBROOK, AL (WSFA)- Millbrook authorities are releasing the name of a motorcyclist who was killed Tuesday afternoon after colliding with an SUV on Alabama Highway 14.
Austin Owens, 22, of Deatsville was killed with the 2008 Yamaha motorcycle he was riding collided with an SUV in the 3700 block of Highway 14. The collision happened in front of the McDonalds at 5:04 p.m.
Investigators say witnesses on the scene saw Owens' motorcycle traveling west when it hit a 2008 Ford Explore that was turning out of the McDonalds, east onto Hwy. 14.
Authorities say Owens struck the SUV on the front driver side door. He was pronounced dead on the scene a short time later.
One person in the SUV was transported to an area hospital. Chief P.K. Johnson said that person was evaluated not because of injuries from the wreck but because they are a recent heart patient and complained of chest pains.

speed was a major contributing factor in the cause of this collision."

enforcement and the possibility of getting a traffic ticket. In this case the
