Crews working to repair damage in Millbrook | News
MILLBROOK, AL (WSFA) - The Millbrook Police Department is urging people to stay away from the Deatsville Highway area of Millbrook while crews work to clear damage from Monday morning's storm.
According to the Elmore County EMA, part of the metal roof on the Devonshire apartments was blown off. Debris was found in the neighborhood next to the apartments. Structural damage has also been reported in the Well Ridge, Grandview Pines, Thornfield and Cross Gate subdivisions.
Authorities say Deatsville Highway is currently closed and will remain that way while Alabama Power crews work to replace downed power poles and lines. No one is being allowed into the area, including residents, until the work is done. Millbrook PD is asking people to stay away for the time being. Highway 14 is backed up as a result of people trying to enter the area.
