According to Davoudpour, service members will be treated to Shoney’s Signature favorite All-American Burger, a freshly prepared, hand-pattied, grain-fed, 100% ground beef, cooked to order burger, served on a toasted corn-dusted bun with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles and mayonnaise.

Warhawks add four local standouts for 2013 season

Warhawks add four local standouts for 2013 season

Following a quarterfinal appearance in the NAIA National Tournament last season, Auburn Montgomery men's soccer head coach Wulf Koch has announced the addition of four local prep standouts for the upcoming 2013 season.

Joining the Warhawks in the fall will be former Brewbaker Tech standout Alan Harwell, Stanhope Elmore's Brandon Perez, LAMP's Grant Dukes and Prattville's Stephen Ingram. The four newcomers will join former Alabama Christian defender Zach Scott as newcomers to the program.

Harwell, a 6-0, 170-pound forward, comes to AUM after attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham last year. During his four-year career at Brew Tech, Harwell was a two-time Gatorade Player of the Year candidate for the state of Alabama. He finished his career with 127 goals, a mark which ranks sixth in the Alabama High School Athletic Association's history, while adding 53 assists.

Deck collapse underscores dangers of overcrowding

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA)- A deck collapse Monday night in Millbrook left several teens injured. It happened at a graduation party. As we move into the summer season, this incident underscores the need to make sure decks aren't overloaded.

"All of a sudden there was a crack and the ground fell out from under us," said Caroline Crisp, who attended the party for St. James seniors. "We just toppled down 12 or 15 feet however high the deck was up and we just hit the ground really fast."

The homeowner tells WSFA 12 News he let a friend use his house for his daughter's graduation party, and was told only about 12 people would be there.  More than 50 showed up to the party. Crisp estimates about 30 to 40 people were on the deck at the time.

Some students reported back, foot and leg injuries.

Millbrook baseball team reaching out to OK team it played over the weekend

The Millbrook Sox

MILLBROOK, AL (WSFA)- It's more than a game for some baseball players in Elmore County, they're showing what good sportsmanship is off the field.

On Saturday, players with the Millbrook Sox, all under the age of seven, played the Mudcats from Moore, Oklahoma during the Alabama Super NIT Tournament in Opelika.

The Mudcats' hometown would soon be devastated by an EF-5 tornado.

Now, the Sox are reaching out to help their former opponents with prayers and donations raised from parents of their players at this week's practices.

Coach Brandon Barrett said several of the players' parents reached out to parents of those on the Mudcats' team to make sure they made it home safe.

A sign on the fence at The Sox's practice field proclaims, "Beyond the Field" as a way of showing that important things of life can go beyond the baseball field.

Bugs & Coon are two Pointer mixes (male & Female) whose owner could no longer afford to keep.  They are four years old and have not been hunted as they lived primarily a kenneled life. They are sweet dogs, a bit shy at first, but typical Pointers in that they quickly start smooching for attention. They will need large and well fenced yards so they can romp and be safe.
